Walk into your local natural foods store, and you’ll likely find a slew of health-touting, organic, cold-pressed juices that pack a nutritional punch. These juices can be used as a cleanse or integrated into your daily routine — and companies like Suja and BluePrint have paved the way for this commercially, offering dozens of varieties and an easy path to nutrition and health.
When Eater talked to Jill Latham of Vibrant Earth Juices at the end of May, the registered dietician and juice geek was impatiently waiting for the completion of her first business home on wheels. Now the truck is here and Vibrant Earth Juices is easier to access than ever before.
Latham is out and about in the truck daily selling the juices she makes fresh from produce sourced as locally as possible. The schedule gets updated every day through the Vibrant Earth Juices social media sites, but, as a rule, you can expect several locations to be permanent.
Here’s a peek at the schedule of the Vibrant Earth Juices truck:
Monday – 5 to 7:30 p.m. Downtown at 13th & Grant
Tuesday – 6:30 to 10 a.m in LoHi at 30th & Zuni
Wednesday – 12 to 1:30 p.m. in LoHi at 30th & Zuni and 6 to 8 p.m. in Baker at Broadway & 3rd.
Thursday – 6:30 to 10 a.m Downtown at 13th & Grant and 4:30 to 8 p.m. in Lohi at 30th & Zuni.
Friday – 12 to 1:30 p.m in Lohi, 30th & Zuni
And if you don’t want to chase the truck around, you can still order the juices or juice cleanses online and get them delivered to your home or office.
If you’re thinking to go on a short-term juice bender, right now and until Monday, August 19, Vibrant Earth Juices is offering 15% off its juices cleanses with promo code BACK2SCHOOL at checkout.

If you think going on a juice cleanse sounds like a good idea but aren’t excited about the amount of work it requires, then Vibrant Earth Juices might be just the thing for you. Santa Barbara nutritionist Jill Latham started her business, Vibrant Earth Juices, about a year ago after she noticed many of her clients would benefit from a cleanse but were daunted by the idea. She began delivering the juices she developed to local customers.
Although the three- and five-day cleanses ($195 and $325, respectively) that come in fruit and vegetable juices still can be purchased for delivery, Ms. Latham is now selling the drinks individually ($8) at Plow to Porch Organics Inc., located on upper State Street.
Four of the juices contain fruits and vegetables, such as Immunity, a pineapple, pear, lemon and mint concoction that also includes flax oil, and Calm, which features kale, beets, carrot, ginger, flax oil and cucumber with strawberry and apple. Other products include a nut milk drink and detox juice.
The benefits of juicing with these products include having more energy. “The goal is to push the reset button,” Ms. Latham said. “It kind of gets you back to a very basic eating pattern.”
Ms. Latham says that the juices eliminate most of the work and cost for clients who want to experience the health effects of a juice cleanse.
“I wanted to provide a juice that makes it as simple as possible.” Plow to Porch Organics is located at 3204 State St. You also can purchase at www.vibrantearthjuices.com.
The best local produce of the season is bottled up in Santa Barbara-based nutritionist Jill Latham’s Vibrant Earth Juices, 805-390-1906, vibrantearthjuices.com. With five different drinks to choose from, the healthy beverages are designed to cleanse and restore vitality. The energy blend ($8) is a green juice chock full of kale, dandelion, cucumber, apple, and lemon.
